Continuing their collaboration with Flint Knoll Winery, Macanudo introduces Estate Reserve Release No. 2—featuring tobacco aged in the finest French Oak barrels previously used to craft Flint Knoll’s acclaimed Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
For this second release in the Macanudo Estate Reserve series, the makers aged Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco in French Oak barrels that once held Flint Knoll’s Royal Appointment Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested during the 2019 growing season in Napa Valley—a warmer year marked by early-season rains and sun-filled summer days—this particular vintage of Royal Appointment is known for its complexity, fruit-forward character, spice, ripe tannins, and exceptional length. These attributes are imparted to the barrels, adding a unique and distinctive influence to the cigar’s profile.
By aging the tobacco in these French Oak barrels, the process infuses subtle nuances from the wine, making each edition unique to the vintage that inspired it. Those who experience Macanudo Estate Reserve Release No. 2 can expect a cigar that is spicier than the original release, with notes of creamy vanilla, toasted almonds, dark currants, and cedary spice.
