AJ Fernandez Bellas Artes Cigars
New from A.J. Fernandez renowned Cuban cigar-maker and tobacco grower has released the Bellas Artes brand; a new blend featuring a new hybrid wrapper and region-specific tobaccos never released before.
The hybrid wrapper, which AJ calls "Rojita” is a cross between three strains of tobacco: Connecticut 8212, Corojo '99 and Havana 2000. The binder which is also a unique tobacco, a Havana '92 varietal grown in Quilalí, a region of Nicaragua that has been producing black tobacco since the 1800s. The fillers of these outstanding smoke is comprised of mainly Nicaragua tobacco from Estelí, Condega and Jalapa, however AJ has added some Honduran leaf and a bit of Brazilian tobacco as well for additional complexity.
A.J. wanted a unique cigar with unique flavors and aromas produced by the tobaccos he selected from the excellent growing regions of Nicaragua, Jamastran and Brazil. The AJ Fernandez Bellas Artes will be available in a handful of sizes in a slightly box-pressed format. All the tobacco in the Bellas Artes blend is aged for a minimum of three years and are handmade at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
